Auditing

For any Quality System, the Quality Audit is a key element used to validate the compliance and integrity of it's performance. Quality Auditing must be accomplished by an independent individual or group of trained and qualified personnel. Auditing is a systematic approach of determining if what the documents say is being done is in fact being accomplished. Audits use objective evidence that the final outcome of a process or procedure is verifiable.

Typically, auditors should have received formal training through either a local ASQ Section Training program or a nationally recognized program. Each audit team is made up of a "Lead Auditor" and "Internal Auditor" team members. The Lead Auditor will run the audit program which includes the: Audit Schedule, Checklist, Coordination of the Auditors, Opening and Closing Meetings, Corrective Action Closure.
